Adam Taylor Proprietor
After qualifying as a Carpenter and completing his studies in Construction Management, Adam started his first company in 1995, forming Joy Developments in 2000. Adam also spent several years working in the construction department of the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane.
A knack for creating stylish solutions for people who need more space led Adam to setup Ayrshire Garden Rooms in 2014.
Gary Currie Carpenter
Gary served his apprenticeship in Troon, undertaking his training at Greenock Building Technical College. Gary joined Joy Developments in 2005 as a Construction Trainee. He is a time served Carpenter and a highly experienced member of the team.
When Gary isn’t in the workshop you will find him peddling the beautiful Ayrshire countryside on his bike.
Ben Fleming Carpenter
Ben joined Joy Developments in 2018 and subsequently undertook his apprenticeship training at Ayr College. Ben is a time served Carpenter having successfully completed his apprenticeship in 2024 and is an integral member of our team.
Ben is a very talented golfer. When not in the workshop you will find him honing his skills on one of the many golf courses in Troon.
Matthew Russell Apprentice
Matthew joined the team in 2021. Currently in his final year at Ayr College, Matthew is making fantastic progress as an Apprentice Joiner.
Matthew is an accomplished DJ, having performed at many festivals and events across Scotland. When not in the workshop or behind the decks, you will find Matthew pursuing his passion for skateboarding.
